GATEWAY is Bartow County's enrichment program for gifted and academically talented students. The name is an acronym that stands for "Gifted and Talented Education With Accelerated Youth."
The purpose of the GATEWAY Program is to motivate and challenge our academically advanced learners. The curricula for gifted students focuses on developing cognitive learning, research and reference, and metacognitive skills at each grade grouping, using principles of differentiation.
The mission of gifted education is to maximize the potential of gifted and talented students by providing programs and services that accommodate their advanced learning styles.
Students identified as gifted and whose participation has received parental consent shall receive services in the GATEWAY program using GaDOE approved models of instruction.
